A temporary road closure is set to affect parts of Curry Mallet.

Somerset Council is closing Marshway and Rock Road to allow Wessex Internet to install fibre cables.

The work is set to begin on Monday, June 23 and is expected to finish on Friday, June 27, with the closure in place for 24 hours a day.

The full public notice detailing the closure is available to view at publicnoticeportal.uk/notice/traffic-and-roads/68414da9875b51dd9edbb901.

The affected area covers 771 metres, from the junction of Helliars Way to the junction with Rockway, and from the junction with Rockway to the junction with Marshway.

Wessex Internet can be contacted on 0333 240 7997 for more information about the works, quoting reference number ttro390729S.

The council stated the reasons for the closure are due to works being carried out in the area and the potential danger to the public or risk of damage to the road if the closure was not enforced.

Alternative routes will be available for motorists.
