Back in January 2024, it went up on the market for rent, seeking new management to turn the pub's fortunes around.

After more than half a year, new management took over in July 2024 and reopened the pub with the help of Greene King. But now, it's time for a change.

The new landlords are set to launch a host of activities, including the return of bingo, quiz nights, and more.

Speaking in a post via social media, the new owners said, "We’re excited to share some big news, The Thatched Cottage Inn is now officially under new Ownership and Management. We’d love for you to join us as we start this new journey together."

The pub held an official grand reopening event this week, serving food and drinks on Tuesday, June 3.

The new pub owner added, "We are working really hard behind the scenes, so please be patient with us as we navigate this transition and get everything ready for you all. Rest assured, we’re committed to doing things differently and better.

"With summer coming, we’ve got lots of exciting things lined up—so stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated along the way.

"Here’s what to expect with us: fresh new drinks, a brand new menu, the return of Bingo and quiz nights and much more.

"Good news. We have listened and made some changes, and the car park cameras have been turned off and will be coming down in the next coming weeks—no more entering your reg, just come on in and grab a drink.

"We’re looking forward to seeing all your lovely faces soon and sharing this new chapter with you."

The thatched inn has become a favourite among locals in the area, with 4.3 stars out of five on Google from almost 500 reviews, many commending the venue's cosy atmosphere and food offering.
