A SOMERSET pub and restaurant near Taunton has been named one of the world's best places to eat.
The Chapel at Cotford St Luke, near Taunton, has been recognised by Tripadvisor as not just one of the best food places in the area, but the world, as it was awarded a 'Travellers' Choice Award 2025'.

Each year, Tripadvisor hands out Travellers' Choice Awards to the destinations, hotels and restaurants loved by reviewers over a 12-month period.
Travellers' Choice award-winners are amongst the top 10 per cent of listings on Tripadvisor, and honour select accommodation, attractions and restaurants that consistently demonstrate a commitment to hospitality excellence.
However, the best of the best awards highlight the places that go above and beyond in a range of categories.
Run by Stephen Elliott and his wife, Tracey, the Chapel was converted from a church premises into a pub and restaurant back in 2008.
The couple took over in December 2022, having lived and worked in the village for more than a decade before taking on the business.
Speaking after winning the Tripadvisor award, someone from The Chapel took to Facebook and said: "The Chapel has been awarded a Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award 2025.
"This puts us in the top 10% of restaurants worldwide — and it’s all thanks to you, our amazing guests, and the incredible Team Chapel who make the magic happen every single day.
"Every visit, every review, every plate served, every smile behind the bar — this award is a celebration of our whole community.
