A temporary 30mph speed limit will be in place on the A358 for one day.

The restriction will apply on Friday, October 10, between 8am and 4pm, to allow Openreach to carry out pole testing works.

The affected section is on Williton Road, in the parish of Bishops Lydeard, from a point 87 metres south of the junction with Holford Lane, extending for 700 metres in a southerly direction.

The speed limit will only be enforced when indicated by traffic signs, with the full public notice detailing the restriction available to view at publicnoticeportal.uk/notice/traffic-and-roads/68dbfe4750ad1fa6e834d364.

Emergency vehicles are exempt from the restriction.

The statement of reasons for the order cites the need to carry out works on or near the road, as well as the potential danger to the public or risk of serious damage to the road.

For further information about the works, the public can contact Sunbelt Rentals on 03700 500792.
