A hotel in Taunton is celebrating 75 years of family stewardship.
The Castle Hotel, a Grade II-listed building with parts dating back to the 12th century, has been under the stewardship of the Chapman family since 1950.
The late Peter Chapman first took over the business, and it is now run by his son Kit, alongside his wife Louise and their children, including their younger son Nick.
Kit Chapman said: "It's a joy to mark 75 years of our family's life at The Castle Hotel.
"This evening is not just about celebrating our history, but also about giving back to the community through Arts Taunton.
"We are proud to share this special milestone with friends, neighbours, and guests who have supported us over the years."
To mark the anniversary, a black-tie dinner will be held at the hotel on Friday, October 17.
The event will raise funds for Arts Taunton, a charity founded by Kit in 2015 to support arts and culture across Somerset.
The dinner will feature dishes prepared by award-winning chefs.
These include the Chapmans’ son Dominic, chef-patron at The Crown in Burchett’s Green, Richard Guest of Augustus in Taunton, and The Castle’s head chef Jacques Ballinger.
Guests will also enjoy entertainment from The Rocking Bishop, Jonathan Meyrick, and Sasha Herriman of the Bluebird Theatre Company.
Stanley Johnson will serve as the guest of honour and will lead an auction of prizes donated by friends and suppliers.
