An "undeniable gem" of a Somerset hotel, which is "everything you could want from a countryside escape", has been named among the best hotels to stay at in the UK and Ireland.
The Newt, which is located near Bruton, featured alongside 34 others in the list from Glamour Magazine.
The publication shared: "Yep: we’ve literally ventured to every corner of the British Isles – from Edinburgh and Somerset to Yorkshire and the Scottish Highlands – to discover the very best boutique hotels, seaside boltholes, treehouse hotels and country house hotels with golf courses and Michelin-starred restaurants.

Why is The Newt among the UK and Ireland's best hotels?
The Newt is said to offer "just about everything you could want from a countryside escape" and was praised by Glamour Magazine as an "undeniable gem".
It adds: "A working country estate with a luxury hotel and spa offering, this is one of those places to put on your list to save for a truly special occasion.
"Whether you visit in the height of summer - when the 800 acres, 3,000+ cyder apple trees and bazillions (approx.) of flowers are busy flourishing - or in the depths of winter - when, speaking from experience, the downpour-obscured gardens are all the more magical - there is no ‘peak’ season at The Newt".
The main section of the hotel is Hadspen House, a Grade II listed Georgian manor house with 23 individually-designed bedrooms.
In terms of food, the Botanical Rooms is the "perfect spot to enjoy a slap-up majoritively homegrown dish".
Meanwhile, a "unique grill" fired from the estate's woodland prepares venison and meat from the area,
Glamour Magazine adds: "The spa is a mere few steps away, with seven treatment rooms, an indoor pool and an indoor/outdoor hydro pool which - we can confirm - is just as picturesque in rain as it is in shine."
Alongside all of this, there are 17 bedrooms in the recently-launched Farmyard, which is accessed via self-drive golf buggies.
It has its own swimming pool and jacuzzi as well as the Farmyard Kitchen, which offers up a menu of "hearty sharing plates".

The Newt has been mostly well-received by visitors, earning a 4.3/5 score from 141 reviews on Tripadvisor.
One person shared: "Always fantastic - excellent customer service. Staff full of knowledge. Always feel valued. Always leave wanting to go back."
