Minehead Christmas light switch-on confirmed by council

Minehead Town Council has revealed that the town's Christmas lights will be turned on next Friday (November 28) just before the December period begins.

Set to take place at 6:30pm, people in attendance will also be treated to a Christmas market with over 25 stalls.

The event will coincide with 'Minehead Victorian Christmas', a festive event organised by Eat&Drink Arts Festival. This will take place from 3:30pm-9pm on November 28.

There will be a stage at the Blenheim Road junction on the Parade Road in Minehead. All car parks will be free to use all day while the event takes place.

Speaking ahead of the planned festivities, a spokesperson for Minehead Town Council said: "The town Christmas tree is up and the festive spirit has officially arrived.

"A big thank you to our amenities team for their amazing help and to CJ Lynch, who kindly donated their time and equipment to make it happen — you’re all stars.

"Our Christmas Light Switch-On is on Friday, November 28 - 4.30pm until 9pm, with the big switch-on at 6.30pm.

"Now get ready for the magic. Wrap up warm, bring your cheer and join us as we kick off the season in style."
