A Somerset pub is preparing to launch the festive season with its popular Christmas light switch-on.
The Queen Victoria Inn in Priddy will hold the event on Monday, December 1, at 6pm, marking a long-standing tradition that draws visitors from across the county.
The pub is under new ownership, and the team is keen to welcome the community for an evening of celebration and giving.
This year’s switch-on will support Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), which provides care for young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.
Kylie Gallagher, area fundraiser for CHSW, said: "We are delighted that the Queen Victoria Pub is once again supporting our hospice this festive season.
"Community events like this not only bring people together but also help us continue providing vital care and support for local families that we support."
The Queen Victoria Inn’s Christmas lights have been a festive highlight for decades, creating a joyful atmosphere.
Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the evening and show their support.
CHSW operates three children’s hospices in the region, including Charlton Farm in Wraxall, offering respite stays, specialist play, sibling support, and end-of-life care.
The charity receives less than 11 per cent of its £14m annual operating costs from government funding and relies heavily on donations.
The pub’s new owners are excited to continue the tradition and celebrate the season with the community.
The event is expected to attract families and festive visitors from across the county.
