From a charity fun run to a music quiz night, there's plenty to enjoy in Taunton over the next week.
Stage performances of Jack & the Beanstalk and The Nutcracker are also on the agenda.
The Nutcracker
Having opened earlier this week, Taunton Brewhouse is staging The Nutcracker until Sunday, December 28.
The play features Clara's Christmas Eve adventure as her Nutcracker doll battles the Evil Rat Queen.
The story is accompanied by live music inspired by English folk melodies and Tchaikovsky’s score.
Performances take place on various days, with all showings and ticket information available at tauntonbrewhouse.co.uk/events/the-nutcracker.
Prices range from £17.50 to £29.50, and the show, sponsored by Taunton School, is open to ages six and up.
Jack & the Beanstalk
The Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre will put on a series of performances of Jack and the Beanstalk from Friday, December 5, to Sunday, December 21.
The shows will be performed by Reamba Productions and follows the theatre company’s success last year with a Cinderella panto.
The show’s opening night will be at 6pm on Friday, December 5, with all tickets costing £14.50 each.
Standard performances this week will take place at 1pm and 5pm on Saturday, December 6, and 12pm and 4pm on Sunday, December 7.

The Big Fat Music Quiz Christmas Special
Music buffs are invited to a Christmas quiz in Taunton this week.
The event takes place at Taunton Creative Innovation Centre CIC, with doors opening from 7pm and the quiz beginning at 8pm.
Up to four people can enter each team, with tickets priced at £6 per person plus a 50p transaction fee.
Rounds will cover music from the past 50 years, with questions on musical acts, as well as picture and video rounds.
The first prize is £40, with second place receiving four bottles from the bar or one bottle of wine, and chocolate for third.
There are also five additional bonus prizes available.

Taunton Tinsel Trot
St Margaret's Hospice is hosting the first Taunton Tinsel Trot in the town this week, promising festive fun while fundraising.
The event, happening on Sunday, 7 December, will see a 3km route for ages 11 and over and a 1km mini trot for younger children and families.
Registration costs are £15 for the 3k route and £5 for the 1k children’s run, with more information available at st-margarets-hospice.org.uk/event/taunton-tinsel-trot.
The Tinsel Trot aims to bring the community together to support local hospice care.
It has been organised in collaboration with the Taunton Carnival Committee.
Funds raised will help St Margaret’s provide free specialist care for people in Somerset living with a life-limiting illness.
