Despite torrential rain, the concert was sold out and the audience were treated to an "exquisite" performance of Torelli’s ‘Concerto for two violins’ performed by musicians, Mary Eade and Mickhail Vichniakov, followed by the enthusiastic ‘revenge’ of the violas ‘ Brandenburg Concerto no. 6 with soloists, Elizabeth Cowdrey and Sabine Cooper.
But what really impressed the audience was 12-year-old, Elliot Cole’s rendition of Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto and Arutunian’s Concert Scherzo, with exquisite solos from Elliot Coles and Noah Mosely.

Elliott, who recently won Taunton young musician of the year, revealed that he was first attracted by the trumpet at the age of 5 in Vivary Park, when he heard ‘The Last Post’.
Mayor Martin Straus, who was visibly moved by these performances, said: "This has been the most wonderful event in a most memorable year - the height of cultural sophistication, promoting Taunton’s talent.
"This is Taunton.
"We know how to do things in Taunton."
