A rare collection of memorabilia from an iconic Somerset-trained racehorse is set to go under the hammer.
The items, directly from the estate of Clive Smith - the late owner of the legendary steeplechaser Kauto Star, will be sold at the Charterhouse Sporting Auction in Sherborne on Wednesday, April 1.
Richard Bromell of Charterhouse said: "Kauto Star is one of the best ever steeplechase horses, having won the Cheltenham Gold Cup twice and the King George V Chase five times amongst a huge number of other races."
Mr Smith, a businessman from Surrey, bought Kauto Star in France and moved him to be trained by Paul Nicholls in Ditcheat.
The collection includes trophies, photographs, prints, and racing memorabilia.
Viewing begins on Monday, March 30, at The Long Street Salerooms.
