Wellington Choral Society has announced the details of its latest free event.

The group will be hosting a Come and Sing event on June 13 at Wellington Prep School, while inviting individuals to join rehearsals.

Taking place from 9.30am until 12.30pm, the choral society’s free event will include performances of choral music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, as well as choruses from Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem.

Both performances will be conducted by their music director, Laurence Blyth.

Rehearsals for Mozart’s Mass in C Minor will begin in September 2026.

Following Saturday’s performance, the group will begin their own rehearsals in September 2026.

All are welcome to drop into the free Wellington Choral Society event, regardless of experience.

Admission will be free, and music will also be provided.

Attendees have been asked to bring their own drinks, but have been told that cake will be provided.

There will also be free parking at the rear of the school.

Choral society members hope that the event will encourage new members to join the choir.

A spokesperson for the society said: “This is a great chance to come and sing with us and see if you would like to join us.”
