HERE are some of the latest Taunton and wider Somerset offenders who have appeared in Taunton, North Somerset and Yeovil Magistrates’ Courts.
Ben Bigwood, 44, of Radlet Close, Taunton, was found guilty of failing to co-operate with a preliminary test for a sample of saliva for drug analysis in Taunton on November 8, 2025.
He was also found guilty (proved in his absence) of using a motor vehicle on School Road, Monkton Heathfield, without insurance.
Bigwood has been ordered to pay £350 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, a total fine of £1,000, and a surcharge of £400.
He also received eight penalty points for this offence on his driving record.
Cameron McCormack, 30, of East Reach, Taunton, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle without insurance along Hamilton Road on June 15, 2025, when the proportion of THC in his blood (two micrograms per litre) exceeded the limit.
McCormack was given a community order. He is required to undergo alcohol treatment for nine months and complete 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
McCormack was disqualified from driving for 18 months.
He was ordered to pay £85 in costs, a fine of £80, and a surcharge of £32.

Former police officer faces prison sentence for harassing colleague
Ashley William Oliver, 35, of Bulford, Wellington, Somerset, pleaded guilty to drunk and disorderly behaviour in a public place and using threatening or abusive words/behaviour or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress in South Street, Wellington on December 10, 2025.
Oliver also indicated they were guilty of attending Calway Road, Taunton, on January 29, 2025, which they were prohibited from doing by a restraining order imposed by Taunton Magistrates’ Court on December 14, 2024.
Oliver was sentenced to a community order, under which they have to undergo alcohol treatment for six months, complete 150 hours of unpaid work, and complete 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
Oliver was also ordered to pay £50 in compensation.
Gregg Howard, 44, of Marshfield Road, Minehead, Somerset, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle along the A39 in Dunster without a seatbelt, while using their mobile phone on July, 29, 2025.
Howard was ordered to pay £110 in costs, a fine of £553 and a surcharge of £221. They were also handed six penalty points.
