A charity football match in Taunton has raised funds for two charities.

Staplegrove Football Club organised the event on Sunday, May 3, to support the British Heart Foundation and Love Musgrove.

The match saw participation from Staplegrove FC Coaches, Staplegrove FC Ladies, Taunton Town WFC, and Sands United - Taunton.

Nuffield Health Taunton Hospital sponsored the event, with Staplegrove FC volunteers contributing to its success.

Raffle prizes donated by local businesses helped raise additional money.

The raised funds will be split between the two charities and improving the club's facilities.

A spokesperson said: "Staplegrove FC would like to thank everyone who came along and supported this event and for those who gave donations and purchased raffle tickets.

"After donating money raised to our selected charities, the club will be able to put the remaining funds towards improving the club's facilities."
