A MAJOR comedy act has been confirmed to appear at a venue in Taunton.
Liverpool-born comic John Bishop will play a one-night show at the Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton.
Bishop, 59, is returning to Taunton with Justin Moorhouse and Sally-Anne Howard as support acts on Friday, September 11 2026.

As part of this summer’s 'Stuff on the Stage Festival', this special show marks Bishop’s first headlining UK performance since 2025 and is expected to attract audiences from across the country eager to see one of Britain’s best-loved comedians back where he belongs, in front of a packed crowd.
This isn't the first time a big-name act has performed at the County Ground, with Sir Elton John in 2012, Sir Rod Stewart in 2014 and Lionel Richie in 2023.
The ground also launched 'Somerset Winter Wonderland' for the first time in 2025, its first event of that kind.
Rod Stewart's 2014 concert at the ground raised £150,000 for St Margaret's Hospice, underlining the venue's history of hosting major one-off events.
At maximum capacity, up to around 12,500 people can sit in the ground for any show featuring a big name like Bishop.

Located on St James' Street, the venue has been known as the Cooper Associates County Ground since 2016, when Somerset sold the naming rights to the Taunton-based wealth management company.
