A dog‑themed weekend event is set to return to Clarks Village in September, with a full programme of free activities and a search for the outlet’s next “Canine Executive Officer”.
The Pawsome Pooch weekend will take place on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September. The Street‑based outlet centre has twice been named the UK’s most dog‑friendly shopping centre in the national DogFriendly UK Awards, recognising its facilities and welcome for visiting dogs and their owners.

Across the two days, visitors can expect dog trick and agility displays, have‑a‑go sessions, pet pampering, a pup pick ’n’ mix station and live “paw‑trait” illustrations, alongside other dog‑focused activities guaranteed to get tails wagging.
There will also be free photo shoots with professional pet photographers, with each participating dog receiving a complimentary digital image and automatic entry into the competition to become Clarks Village’s next CEO – Canine Executive Officer.
A judging panel will pick a shortlist of 10 dogs from the event, before members of the public are invited to vote for the winner via the centre’s social media channels. The new CEO will take over from the current title‑holder, Archie the golden miniature dachshund, and will front dog‑related activity at the outlet as well as receiving a prize package worth up to £500.
Clarks Village says dogs are welcome throughout the year in its outdoor malls and landscaped gardens, and in many of its shops and food outlets, where indoor and outdoor dog‑friendly dining is available.
Mike Jones, Centre Director of Clarks Village, said: "We're excited to announce the return of Pawsome Pooch, our fun-filled, dog-friendly weekend which has quickly become one of our most popular events of the year.
"While the outlet is dog friendly all year round, this event gives us the opportunity to celebrate our canine guests and families and treat them to a packed programme of activities guaranteed to give every dog something to bark about."
The shopping village, which opened in 1993 as the UK’s first outlet centre, now has more than 90 brands and a range of cafés and restaurants. Further details about the Pawsome Pooch weekend will be published on the Clarks Village website and social channels closer to the event.
