A Quantock Hills distiller has won big at the Gin Guide Awards 2026.

Becky Wright, of Dryad Gins, scooped two gold, one silver, and a bronze award for her latest creation.

Her new Sea Centaur Coastal Gin, inspired by a nighttime otter visiting her distillery, claimed gold in the traditional gin and coastal gin categories, and bronze in the cocktail martini class.

Ms Wright said: "This is the third gin we have made at our micro distillery.

"I wanted it to reflect our coast, especially Porlock, where samphire grows.

"I used fresh samphire and fresh lemon peel in my recipe and built it to drink as a martini as its 45 per cent ABV."

The judges said Sea Centaur Coastal Gin stands out as "a bold and refined expression within the traditional gin category, delivering depth, structure and clarity at a higher ABV."

The Gin Guide Awards 2026 attracted entries from 36 countries, which were blind tested by an expert panel of distillers, spirits buyers, authors, and mixologists.
