A new monthly Sunday market is set to launch in a Somerset city later this month.

Wells Market will pilot the event on Sunday, June 14, running alongside its existing Wednesday and Saturday markets.

If the trial is successful, the Sunday market will run for the rest of the year, culminating in a Christmas market weekend.

In a Facebook post, Wells Market said: "At Wells City Council we are launching our new market as a pilot to bring together a large selection of completely new traders into Wells, showcasing different and interesting products and creations.

“We will also have a selection of our established and popular traders to create an interesting and vibrant mix that will change each month as we rotate our offerings.

“At Wells we have the most beautiful setting to stage our pilot events, surrounded by historically beautiful buildings, cafes and restaurants with tables and chairs everywhere to sit and relax – not to mention our hot food sellers providing a range of very different meals to try.

"We are working to create a lovely and uniquely happy environment for everyone to enjoy."

Wells Sunday Market is set to launch in Market Place on Sunday, June 14, and will be open from 10am to 3pm.
