HERE are some of the latest Taunton and wider Somerset offenders who have appeared in Taunton and North Somerset Magistrates' Court.
Acacio Maia, 54, of Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton, pleaded guilty to drink-driving on April 26 of this year along Morse Road, Taunton.
Maia has been given a driving disqualification of 20 months, which will be reduced by 20 weeks if a driving course is completed by July 10 next year.
Maia has been ordered to pay a fine of £461, £85 in costs, and a surcharge of £184.
Charles Heavon, 34, from Monkton Heathfield, Taunton, pleaded guilty to speeding on September 20 2024, in Bristol along the M32 Severn Beach Rail Line Overbridge at 47mph – exceeding 40mph.
Heavon has been ordered to pay a fine of £100, £110 in costs, and a surcharge of £40.
Heavon will also receive three penalty points on his licence.
Anthony Clulee, 24, from Dorset, pleaded guilty to driving without insurance, without his headlights lit, and after his licence had been revoked on the A358 in Henlade on November 1 of last year.
He also pleaded guilty to driving above 70mph on the M5 southbound from Junction 24 (Bridgwater) to Junction 25 (Taunton) on November 1 of last year.
Clulee has been ordered to pay a fine of £510, £85 in costs, and a surcharge of £204.
Clulee will also receive eight penalty points on his licence.

Gokhan Keser, 44, of Wilfrid Road, Street, pleaded guilty to driving a red Ford Fiesta on the M5 between Junctions 20 (Clevedon) and 21 (Weston-super-Mare) southbound, where an accident occurred and then failing to stop on January 26 of this year, along with leaving his vehicle in a dangerous position on the M5 on the same date.
Keser has been ordered to pay a fine of £461, £85 in costs, and a surcharge of £194.
Keser will also receive eight penalty points on his licence.
Peter O'Keefe, 56, of Timberscombe, Minehead, pleaded guilty to stealing items worth £157.92 from ASDA on Longforth Road, in Wellington, on January 22 of this year, along with items worth £400.26 from the same store on February 21 of this year.
He also stole items worth £156 belonging to the same store on March 20 of this year, items to the value of £501.87 from Blackdown Garden Centre on March 25 of this year, and four bottles of Asda vodka and one bottle of Smirnoff vodka to the value of £123.58 belonging to the same store on September 28 of last year.
O'Keefe has been sentenced to serve a total custodial period of 10 weeks, suspended by 18 months.
O'Keefe must complete 12 months of drug rehabilitation and 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
O'Keefe must also pay a total of £1,339.63 in compensation.
