Taunton will host a fun-filled family day of free events and displays in Vivary Park on Saturday, July 4, to mark Somerset Armed Forces Day.
The community event will give people the chance to show their support and to celebrate members of our Armed Forces.
In recent years, the popular day has featured arena events, fly pasts, displays of military and emergency service vehicles and stalls with information on British military history.
Taunton Town Council and Somerset Council will show their support for the Armed Forces with a flag-raising ceremony on Monday, June 22, at 11am.
The ceremony will be hosted at County Hall, Taunton, by Somerset Council chairman Mike Best and Taunton Mayor Bev Fernandes.

The flag will be flown at Somerset Council’s main offices and at Taunton Town Council’s office at Deane House leading up to Armed Forces Day on Saturday, June 27.
Mr Best said: “(It) is a meaningful way to show our support for the whole Armed Forces community, from serving personnel and reservists to veterans, cadets and military families.
“It’s a chance to say thank you for their dedication, their sacrifice and the contribution they make, both in service to the nation and in communities across Somerset.”
Ms Fernandes said: “We are proud to join Somerset Council in marking Armed Forces Day through this flag-raising ceremony in the heart of Taunton.
“As the town council’s Armed Forces champion, I am particularly pleased to recognise the dedication and service of our Armed Forces community, including serving personnel, veterans, reservists and military families.”
