Frome
70s/80s/90s Disco at the Hexagon Suite
A disco afternoon returns to Frome this weekend.
The event, featuring hits from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, will be held at The Hexagon Suite, within the Assembly Rooms, on Saturday, June 20.
Running from 3pm to 7pm, it follows the success of the venue’s previous ‘Revival Disco’ in December.
Organisers are encouraging attendees to "dust off your platforms or your glow sticks, or simply come as you are!"
The event is for over-18s only, and tickets are priced at £12, which includes booking fees.

Miracle Theatre: Peer Gynt – A Comedy of Terror
Outdoor theatre is set to return to Frome next week.
The ECOS amphitheatre will host a new take on the classic play Peer Gynt on Tuesday, June 23 at 7pm.
Presenting A Comedy of Terror, Miracle Theatre’s adaptation is directed by Bill Scott.
The story follows Peer, a dreamer who prioritises his own interests as he navigates a world full of eccentric characters, trolls and fantastical creatures.
The company’s signature style combines physical comedy and visual storytelling for audiences aged seven and above.
The two-hour performance will take place outdoors but may be moved inside to the Merlin Theatre if there is bad weather.

World Cup 2026: England vs Ghana
Football fans in Frome can watch England’s World Cup clash against Ghana on the big screen.
England's second game in Group L on Tuesday, June 23, will be screened at Cheese & Grain and will feature all-standing areas.
It is free to attend, but under-16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Doors will open at 8pm before the 9pm kick-off.
England will be hoping to go all the way at the World Cup, which is being held across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, for the first time since 1966.
They were dumped out of the 2022 competition in Qatar at the quarter-final stage, losing to runners-up France.
Wells
Preucil School String Orchestra
An orchestra from Iowa City will perform in Wells this weekend.
On Saturday, June 20, the Preucil School String Orchestra will carry out a free concert at Wells Town Hall.
Starting at 5pm, the event will see musicians aged 13 to 19 perform an assorted range of Baroque, classical, and contemporary compositions.
The concert aims to highlight music as a universal language.
Carey Bostian, conductor of the orchestra, will lead the ensemble, which is the flagship ensemble of the Preucil School of Music and has toured extensively across the USA and internationally.

Lunchtime Concert: The University of Arkansas Children’s Choir
A children's choir from the United States will perform in Wells next week.
The University of Arkansas Children's Choir will give a lunchtime concert at Wells Cathedral on Monday, June 22.
Founded in 1997 as a community outreach programme of the University of Arkansas Music Department, the choir presents a broad repertoire of traditional, spiritual and contemporary music.
The programme includes a selection of works such as This Little Light of Mine, Scarborough Fair, Lacrymosa, and Let It Be.
The 45-minute concert begins at 1.05pm.
Admission is included with entry to the cathedral.

A Glastonbury choir will join a charity concert in Wincanton this weekend.
South Somerset Good Afternoon Choir will perform with Glastonbury Male Voice Choir at Wincanton Memorial Hall on June 20, at 7pm.
Funds from the concert will go to MHA – Live later life well.
Good Afternoon Choir founder Grenville Jones said: "This will be a very special concert for our members with a mix of music to suit everyone."

The Mayor’s Charity Concert & Civic Evening
A charity concert hosted by the mayor is being held in Yeovil this weekend.
The event, held at Westlands Entertainment Venue, will raise funds for Yeovil Bloodbikes and Yeovil Hospital Charity (Dementia Support).
Planned for Saturday, June 20, it will feature performances from Castaway Theatre Group, HMS Heron Royal Navy Volunteer Band, St Michael’s School Choir, Octagon Junior Choir, Yeovil Cadets and Yeovil, and Sherborne and Shaftesbury Rock Choir.
Tickets are priced at £16, with concessions available for £14, both including a £1.50 levy.
