HERE are some of the latest Taunton and wider Somerset offenders who have appeared in Taunton and Yeovil Magistrates' Court.
Edward Gowlett, 45, of Lydeard St Lawrence, Taunton, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle down Trull Road at 28 miles per hour, exceeding the 20 miles per hour speed limit.
Gowlett has been ordered to pay a surcharge of £40 and a fine of £100.
Karl Matthews, 59, of Gay Close, Wellington, pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviours/disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress on June 14 of last year in Wellington.
Matthews has been ordered to pay a fine of £108 and £200 in costs.
Marcus Jones, 34, of Charles Crescent, Taunton, pleaded guilty to damaging or destroying property to an unknown value belonging to another person in Taunton on July 2 of last year and to stealing alcohol to the value of £16.74 from Lidl on Roman Road on the same day.
Jones has been ordered to serve a community order, which entails undergoing alcohol treatment for nine months, and electric monitoring until September 5 of this year.
Jones must also complete 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days and pay £85 in costs.

Nithin Pulivelichira, 41, of Pollards Way, Taunton, pleaded guilty to drink-driving a motor vehicle on the A303 at Hayes End Roundabout in South Petherton.
Pulivelichira has been ordered to pay £85 in costs, a surcharge of £194, and a fine of £484.
Pulivelichira is also subject to a driving disqualification lasting 12 months, which will be reduced by 12 weeks if he completes a driving course by January 8 of next year.
Ryan Edwards, 33, of Penny Close, North Petherton, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police constable and resisting another police constable in Burnham-on-Sea on May 22 of last year.
Edwards has been ordered to pay £85 in costs, £100 in compensation and a fine of £519.
Charlie Wilkinson, 21, of Puriton Park, Puriton, Bridgwater, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police constable in Bridgwater on May 10 of this year
Wilkinson has been ordered to pay £85 in costs and £75 in compensation.
