A MAN has been hospitalised following a crash involving a motorbike and a car on the A3088 in South Somerset.
Avon and Somerset Police were called to a road traffic incident involving two vehicles on the A3088 Cartgate Link Road, near Yeovil, at around 5.45pm yesterday (Monday, June 29).
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police confirmed that, following the incident, the rider of the motorbike, a man in his 70s, was rushed to hospital.
A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust confirmed they also attended and sent a double-crewed ambulance, an operations officer and a tactical commander to the scene and conveyed the patient to Yeovil District Hospital.
The spokesperson said: “We were called at 17:35hrs on Monday 29 June to a road traffic collision near Yeovil.
"We sent a double-crewed land ambulance, an operations officer and a tactical commander to the scene and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Yeovil District Hospital.”

Police have since confirmed the man's injuries are not considered serious.
The police spokesperson said: "We attended a collision involving a motorbike and a car on the A3088 Cartgate Link Road at around 5.45pm yesterday (Monday, June 29).
"The rider of the motorbike, a man in his seventies, was taken to hospital with injuries which were not considered serious."
