A PERSON was rushed to hospital following a crash involving a lorry and a hedge on the A358 between Ilminster and Taunton.
At around 5.07pm on Thursday, July 16, 2026, emergency services were called to the A358 following reports of a road traffic collision involving a HGV that left the road.
South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) confirmed today (July 17) that they sent two double-crewed ambulances to the scene of the crash and one person was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital.

The spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: "We were called at 17:07hrs on Thursday 16 July to a road traffic collision near Ilminster.
"We sent two double-crewed land ambulances to the scene and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Musgrove Park Hospital."
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We attended a collision involving an HGV which left the A358, near Ashill, at around 5.15pm yesterday (Thursday 16 July)
"The driver was taken to hospital with injuries which were not considered life-changing or life-threatening. The road reopened after a short closure to allow for the vehicle to be recovered."
