The latest Taunton offenders sentenced in magistrates' court

Frankie Cox, 20, of Moorland Road, Taunton, pleaded guilty to stealing various food and drink items to the value of £33.92 from Larkmans (previously known as the Spar), Ilminster, on Station Road on April 12 of this year.

Cox has been ordered to pay a surcharge of £26 and £16.96 in compensation.

Cox has been conditionally discharged for six months.

Shaun Prettyjohns, 42, of Coopers Mill, Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the notification requirements on the sex offenders register, namely failing to register new passport details within three days of receipt on January 22 of this year.

Prettyjohns has been ordered to pay a surcharge of £32 and a fine of £80.

Lisa Thomas, 53, of Brook Road, East Reach, Taunton, pleaded guilty to assaulting a man by beating him on December 30 of last year in Taunton.

Thomas has been ordered to pay £40 in costs and a surcharge of £26.

Thomas has been conditionally discharged for a period of 18 months.

Albie Cooper, 20, of Goji Place, Bridgwater, pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis in Bridgwater on March 1 of this year.

Cooper has been ordered to pay £40 in costs, a surcharge of £26, and has been conditionally discharged for a period of nine months.

The court has also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the cannabis.

Nick Davis, 49, of Worston Lane, Burnham-on-Sea, pleaded guilty to cultivating 29 cannabis plants on February 1 of this year.

Davis also pleaded guilty to dishonestly causing electricity to be wasted/diverted on February 1 of this year.

Davis has been sentenced to 34 weeks' imprisonment, suspended for 18 months.

Davis must also complete 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days and pay a fine of £240.

The court has also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the 29 cannabis plants.
