THE Shepton Mallet pub, The Thatched Cottage Inn, has closed but is set to reopen soon.
The pub's outgoing management team announced their departure on Sunday, August 3, inviting customers to a farewell event to mark their final day at the venue.
In a message shared on social media on the day of closure, the team said: "Today is our last day here at The Thatched Cottage Inn.
"From 5pm today we have a little leaving party, so why not join us for drinks deals and food. Karaoke will also be on.
"From myself (Cookie), Andy Clark and the rest of the Thatch team, thank you for all your support for us and the pub."

The Thatched Cottage Inn, situated on the outskirts of Shepton Mallet, is one of the town's most recognisable pubs thanks to its traditional thatched roof and patio beer garden.
The venue has long been a popular destination for locals and visitors alike, earning a reputation for its food, community atmosphere and live entertainment.
For many years, the pub operated as part of the Greene King estate. However, the venue was placed on the market in January 2024 in a bid to find new management to help revitalise the business.
After more than six months, the current team took over and reopened the pub with the support of Greene King in the summer of 2024.
Since then, the inn has continued to build a loyal customer base. The venue currently holds a rating of 4.3 out of five stars on Google from almost 500 reviews, with customers regularly praising its welcoming atmosphere, food and drink offering.
Despite the management change, the closure is only expected to be temporary.
A new management team is due to take over from Wednesday, August 5, ensuring the pub can continue trading with minimal disruption.
While details about the incoming operators have yet to be announced publicly, customers can expect the venue to reopen under its new management later this week.
The transition marks another chapter in the history of one of Shepton Mallet's best-known pubs, with regulars now wishing farewell to the outgoing team and welcoming those set to take the reins.
