HERE are some of the latest Taunton and wider Somerset offenders who have appeared in Magistrates' Court this week.
Jazzmin Powell, 19, of Wilton Street, Taunton, pleaded guilty to shouting racially motivated hate words within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm, or distress on July 12 of last year.
Powell must pay a fine of £120 and £250 in compensation.
Emma Hawkes, 51, of Burge Crescent, Cotford St Luke, was sentenced for driving along the M5 at Junction 20, near Kenn Road, at 83mph, exceeding the 70mph speed limit on January 18 of this year.
Hawkes has been ordered to pay £120 for costs, a surcharge of £133, and a fine of £333.
Hawkes has also received three penalty points.

Sheldon Turner, 38, of no fixed abode, Taunton, Somerset, pleaded guilty to driving a Range Rover down Trull Road, Taunton, without due care and attention, without insurance or a licence, and failing to stop after a road accident occurred whereby damage was caused to another vehicle on February 6 of this year.
Turner has been disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay a fine of £400, and £85 in costs.
Simon Jon Smith, 39, of Priorswood Place, Taunton, pleaded guilty to driving in Priorswood Place without insurance and while disqualified on April 9 of this year.
Smith has been ordered to pay £85 in costs, is banned from driving for 37 months and 42 days, and his driving record has been endorsed.
Smith has also been sentenced to a total of 12 weeks' imprisonment after a suspended sentence was activated for committing a further offence and breaching court orders.
