A FILM company is set to film a comedy in Axbridge next week, with temporary parking restrictions affecting parts of the town centre.
Axbridge Town Council has announced that production crews will be using a number of locations across the town, including The Square and Lavender Rise.
It follows several recent filmed productions in the area - including BBC's A Good Girl's Guide To Murder and more recently Can You Keep a Secret?, starring Dawn French and Mark Heap.
Whilst the upcoming production being filmed in Axbridge has not been named, it is rumoured that Can You Keep a Secret is resuming filming there in September following the announcement that it had been renewed for a second season.
Filmed in February and March last year, production crews spent several weeks shooting in the area at locations including Axbridge’s Medieval Town Square and Waterfall Café and Ice Creams in Cheddar Gorge. The Fendon family home was filmed at Ten Acre Woods near Axbridge.
Residents in the areas most affected by the filming have been notified of the plans via posted letters, which will see some parking suspended for several days.

Parking in The Square will be suspended from 7am on Tuesday, September 1, until 7pm on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
While Axbridge Town Car Park will remain open, the northern section of the car park, behind and alongside the central reservation, will be unavailable for public parking during the filming period.
Vehicles parked in the affected area are being asked to vacate the spaces by 6pm on Monday evening.
The council said the film company will manage the closure and maintain access within the car park where possible.
Moorland Street Car Park will remain unaffected by the arrangements. The furlong car park at the end of Penn Way will also stay open, although 10 spaces will be reserved for filming activities.
In a notice to residents, Axbridge Town Clerk Vicky Brice acknowledged that the restrictions may cause some disruption but said efforts would be made to minimise the impact on residents and visitors.
The notice states: "Every effort will be made to manage the restrictions and traffic to minimise the inconvenience to residents and visitors alike.
"We do appreciate it does make things more difficult for these few days but hope you will join us in making the company welcome, enjoy the occasion and help promote our lovely town."
The identity of the production company and the comedy being filmed has not yet been revealed.
