Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is inviting the public to its Annual General Meeting and marketplace event.

The event, taking place on Thursday September 17, at Somerset County Cricket Club in Taunton, is open to everyone, with a special call to those interested in healthcare.

Themed ‘The NHS 10-Year Health Plan’, the event will discuss future healthcare delivery and improvement in health outcomes for the next decade.

The marketplace will run from 2pm to 4pm in the County Room, boasting a wide array of NHS services available across Somerset.

Local charitable, voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise organisations will also be exhibiting.

Information and advice on healthy living, wellbeing, and lifestyle choices will be accessible, underscoring the role of local organisations in fostering healthier communities.

Following the marketplace, the AGM will take place from 4pm to 5.30pm in the Long Room.

The meeting will reflect on the trust’s achievements during 2025/26 and discuss future priorities and plans in line with the NHS 10-Year Health Plan.

Dr Rima Makarem, chair, and Peter Lewis, chief executive, are encouraging public questions during the AGM.

They recommend submitting questions in advance for precise and comprehensive responses.

Questions can be submitted via somersetft.nhs.uk/about-us/?document=agm-public-question-form-2026 or emailed to companysecretary@somersetft.nhs.uk by 5pm on Monday, August 31.

Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be available throughout the afternoon.

To attend, email companysecretary@somersetft.nhs.uk by 5pm on Monday, August 31.

More details on parking and accessibility are available on the Somerset NHS Foundation Trust website.
