A fun-filled day celebrating canine companions returning to one of Somerset’s most loved country parks this weekend.
The Ham Hill Fun Dog Show, organised by Somerset Council’s Ham Hill team and local organiser Donna McNeill, will take place at the Meadows on Sunday, September 13, raising funds for the Friends of Ham Hill charity, which supports projects throughout the country park.
Visitors can enjoy a packed programme of dog-friendly activities, entertainment, and refreshments.
Cllr Federica Smith-Roberts, Somerset Council's lead member for communities, environment, and climate change, said: “The Ham Hill Dog Show is a fantastic community event and a wonderful opportunity for people and their pets to enjoy one of Somerset's most treasured outdoor spaces.
“Events like this help people connect with nature, support wellbeing and bring communities together, while also raising valuable funds for the Friends of Ham Hill.
“We are proud to support activities that help keep Ham Hill special for everyone who visits.”
The event will feature 10 fun dog show classes open to all breeds, ages and personalities, as well as the Ham Hill Challenge for more energetic pups.
It will conclude with the Best in Show competition.

Entry is £2 per class, payable in cash at ringside due to unreliable mobile signal in the area.
Food and drink stalls, a tombola and family entertainment will be available throughout the day.
Show organiser Donna McNeill said: “The Ham Hill Dog Show is always such a special day.
“It’s a chance for people to come together, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and celebrate the unique bond we share with our dogs.
“There is nothing better than seeing so many happy dogs and their owners enjoying themselves at Ham Hill.
“Whether you are competing or simply spectating, it is always a fun and memorable day.”
Gates open at 10.30am.
Free parking is available on site, and visitors are reminded to bring poo bags and to clean up after their dogs.
Ham Hill does not have litter bins, so attendees are asked to take their rubbish home and recycle where possible.
Dogs must be kept on a lead except when participating in designated activities.
