A MUCH-LOVED festive ice rink is returning to Somerset outlet village this year for the Christmas season.

On September 14, it was announced that the Festive Ice Rink will return to Clarks Village for more than seven weeks of seasonal fun.

Running from Tuesday, November 10, to Sunday, January 3, the rink, covering 585 square metres, will be fully undercover, making it suitable for all weather conditions.

Mike Jones, centre director at Clarks Village, said: "We’re incredibly excited to bring back the magical Festive Ice Rink at Clarks Village for the entire Christmas season.

"Whether you’re making a special visit to enjoy the ice rink or combining it with a day of discount outlet shopping, it offers a fun and festive experience for all the family.

"Plus, with late-night opening restaurants and free evening parking and plenty to enjoy both on and off the ice, we can’t wait to welcome guests to Clarks Village to celebrate the festive season in style."

The rink will also host a variety of themed sessions, including after-school skating, parent and toddler sessions, quiet sessions, disco nights, and 2-for-1 offers.

Brand new for this year are ‘Skate and Sing’ sessions.

The rink is fully wheelchair-accessible and can be privately hired for parties, school trips, and community events.

Skating will also be available on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.

Designed and installed by Icescape, the rink will be located on the lawn of the Shoemakers Museum, with access from the Restaurant Terrace.

Clarks Village is planning a special launch event for the rink, with full details to be announced soon.

Previous years have seen events such as the World’s Biggest Santa Skate and the World’s Biggest Elf Skate, which invited guests to dress up and join a free family skate in an attempt to set a world record.

This year’s launch event will be revealed on Clarks Village’s social media channels and will include free tickets.

Tickets go on sale on Monday, October 5, with a limited-time early bird offer of 20 per cent off full-price tickets.

Each skating session lasts 45 minutes, with tickets starting from £14, or £12 for children aged 12 and under.

Family tickets are available from £44.
