THE popular BBC TV show Baragin Hunt was recently filmed in Taunton.
It returned to screens yesterday (Monday, September 14) as presenter Christina Trevanion oversaw the action as two teams of keen bargain hunters searched for hidden treasures at a huge antiques centre in Taunton, helped by experts Ben Cooper and Danny Sebastian.
Taking part in the episode are father-and-daughter duo Alex and Jasmine, who make up the red team, while engaged couple Immy and Graham compete in blue. The couple are hoping to boost their wedding fund with any winnings they can secure from the challenge.
As always, the teams are given a budget and tasked with finding antiques and collectibles they believe can make a profit when they go under the hammer.
Alex and Jasmine quickly spot what they hope could be a winning purchase in the form of a resin leopard model, while Immy and Graham set their sights on a pair of opera glasses as they hunt for the perfect buy.

The episode also features a separate journey through history as Christina explores how the lives of women changed throughout the 20th century. Sitting down with a cup of tea and a magazine, she learns more about the evolution of women's roles in society through a remarkable collection of magazines dating back as far as 100 years.

Once the shopping is complete, the teams head to auction, where their fortunes will be decided by bidders. The sale takes place at auctioneer Tim Weeks' auction house near Chippenham, with both experts hoping their bonus buys can help secure a profit.
