BT and Openreach are warning Brits to "switch now" or risk losing their phone service over the coming months.
Openreach and BT are switching off the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) across the UK.
The major switch-off will be completed early next year, with all traditional phone lines converting to digital on January 31, 2027.
Today marks just 6 months until the UK's old phone network (PSTN) is retired ⏰
We're urging communication providers and businesses to act now.
Around 1.5 million lines still need to migrate before 31 Jan 2027.

The ageing PSTN has been in operation for around 150 years, dating back to the 1870s.
As a result, the ageing landline network is "harder to maintain, more vulnerable to faults and no longer meets modern needs".
Openreach continued: "More services rely on digital connections, meaning the UK needs a phone system for modern homes and businesses."
Moving to digital lines is expected to provide a more reliable service, better-quality calls and improved blocking of unwanted calls.
Brits warned to "switch now" or be left without phone connection
Ahead of the switch-off in January, households across the UK are being urged to contact their service provider "as soon as possible".
Openreach added: "They’ll explain what needs to happen, help you choose the right digital option and support you through the switch."
All services not moved to the new digital network by January 31 will be lost.
The move affects more than phones.
BT explained: "We need to start planning your move today because there could be a lot to do.
"Remember, it’s not just about calls.
"Everything connected to your phone lines, like door entry systems and alarms needs to reviewed."
Customers who act early will have more time to set up services, ask questions and deal with problems.
Anyone contacted by their provider about switching is advised not to ignore it.
