A WESTON-SUPER-MARE school has released a statement following a ‘medical emergency’ at the site.
Mendip Green Primary School on Greenwood Road has cancelled its Opal Play event at the site due to an incident involving a member of staff on Thursday, September 24.
The school has asked people not to speculate as to what happened.
At Mendip Green Primary School, around 617 pupils are on roll with a capacity of 654. The school's motto is centred around "knowledge inspires, kindness leads, and character matters".
In a statement shared online, a spokesperson for Mendip Green Primary School said: "Dear Mendip Green School parents and carers.
"We currently have a medical emergency on site due to a situation with a member of staff. A number of emergency services have attended the site. Regrettably, we need to cancel our Opal Play event today due to staff wellbeing.
"Thank you for your understanding."
Emergency service vehicles have since left the site today (September 24).
The school asked that people not discuss the incident any further via social media.
