A TAUNTON man has been handed a suspended sentence for making more than 600 indecent images of children.
Robert Cuthbert, 73, of Winchester Street, Taunton, appeared in Taunton Crown Court on September 15 of this year.
Cuthbert pleaded guilty to making 635 indecent images of children.
Specifically, in Taunton on or before May 14 of this year, he made 113 Category A still images of a child, 132 Category B still images of a child and 390 Category C still images of a child.

Cuthbert has been given a total custodial period of 16 months, suspended by 24 months.
Cuthbert must complete 35 rehabilitation activity requirement days, is barred from working with children and/or vulnerable adults, must register with the police at Taunton Police Station for ten years and is subject to a sexual harm prevention order for ten years.
The court also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of a Dell Computer seized and for Cuthbert to pay a £1,500 fine and a surcharge of £187.
