Bring your hat, scarf and woolly mitts because a popular fireworks display will be returning to Somerset this month, all while raising money for an important local cause.
St Margaret’s Hospice Care is bringing its Fireworks Night back to Taunton Racecourse for a second year on Friday, October 30.
Organisers are promising an evening of colour, music and entertainment for the whole family, with the main firework display being staged by Sonic Fireworks and choreographed to music.

In terms of practicalities, gates will open to attendees at 5.30pm before the fireworks begin at 7.30pm, with food and drink available throughout the evening.
Free parking will be provided at the racecourse and overseen by a traffic management company. The event is being sponsored by David Wilson Redrow South West.

Money raised from the event will help St Margaret’s Hospice Care continue providing specialist support free of charge to people with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
The charity say it's community nursing teams care for people in their own homes across Somerset, helping patients manage their symptoms, remain independent and spend time in familiar surroundings.
St Margaret’s said it supported 4,790 people through direct contact across its services during 2025–26.
It estimates that ticket sales from every 100 adults attending the event could generate the equivalent cost of 12 community nursing visits to patients’ homes, before the costs of staging the event are deducted.
Merle Harrison-Croft, event manager at St Margaret’s, said: “After bringing people together for our first Fireworks Night last year, we're really looking forward to returning to Taunton Racecourse.
“It’s a chance for families and friends to enjoy a great evening out, knowing they're also supporting hospice care in their local community.
“Every ticket helps us continue providing specialist care to people across Somerset, whether that's a nurse visiting someone at home, helping a patient manage their symptoms or supporting a family through a difficult time.
“We hope people will join us for another memorable evening and help make a difference to local families.”
Advance tickets cost £9 for adults and £5 for children, while children aged under three can attend free.
Tickets bought at the gate will cost £12 for adults and £6 for children, with admission for under-threes remaining free.
Tickets can be booked through the St Margaret’s Hospice Fireworks Night webpage.
