Police have increased patrols in part of Somerset after reports of wildlife crime.
Officers in Frome have responded to reports of hare and deer coursing, as well as catapults being used illegally to kill game birds.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “Frome Neighbourhood Policing Team has increased rural patrols following reports of hare coursing, deer coursing, and the illegal use of catapults to kill game birds.
“Please help us protect our countryside by reporting suspicious activity, including vehicles in fields, people with dogs in remote locations, or powerful lights being used at night in woodland, trees, and hedgerows.
“Your information could help prevent wildlife crime and identify offenders.
“If you see suspicious activity, please report it via 101, online, or 999 if a crime is in progress.”
The increased patrols follow reports that several pheasants were unlawfully killed using catapults in Frome.
Police previously said such incidents caused unnecessary suffering and would be investigated where offences were identified.
Suspicious activity can be reported online or by calling 101.
Anyone who sees a crime in progress should call 999.
