CARING 17-year-old Guy Potter, of Taunton, won a highly commended certificate for the way he has looked after an elderly neighbour.
Guy came to the aid of Beryl Wolseley, who nominated him, when she fell and badly sprained her ankle. He arranged for a lift home for her from hospital and offered to stay overnight in case she needed help. He then made sure her dog was exercised over the course of a month while she recovered.
Later, when two apparent conmen came knocking at the door of this lady, she called him to ask for advice and he was round within minutes to make sure she was safe.
Mrs Wolseley said: “My friends agree there are not many young lads who would offer to help an old age pensioner in this way.”
