PUPILS at Lydeard St Lawrence Primary School are being asked 'The Big Question' as part of a new approach to homework.

As part of the scheme, pupils are set a question to answer, but the way they reply is up to them.

Sophie David, one of the year two teachers, said: “They have to make the choice themselves on how they answer it to allow their creativity to flourish. It also suits individual learning styles.”

Meanwhile, the school also celebrated national science and engineering week.

Pupils took part in the K'Nex challenge which involved building a buggy to a design brief.

Teacher Sophie David said: “The children were so excited and we had a really great day.”
