PUPILS at Timberscombe and Cutcombe Church of England First Schools are still on top form according to the latest Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools (SIAS).

The schools, which were graded outstanding by Ofsted last term, were visited by the SIAS, which works with Ofsted to grade the schools on their effectiveness as a church school.

The inspector noted the children’s maturity, and understanding of concepts such as forgiveness and faithfulness.

Head teacher Marcus Capel said: “I am very pleased with the excellent result of both inspections.

“The children demonstrated their depth of knowledge and their high standards of behaviour.

“The strong, caring ethos of both schools was commented upon and, as in the previous Ofsted inspection, their distinctive and special atmosphere impressed the inspector. It is a privilege to work and learn in such schools.”
