A FIGHT involving between 10 and 15 young men ended with four of them being treated in hospital and six of them being arrested.

Police say the injured men were taken to the accident and emergency department at nearby Musgrove Park Hospital, in Taunton.

It is believed they suffered only minor injuries in the incident and were later allowed home after receiving treatment.

The six men arrested on suspicion of affray and common assault were all aged between 18 and 21.

They were questioned by officers at Taunton Police Station before being released on bail so that police can carry out further inquiries to ascertain what happened.

Trouble flared at around 3.30am on Trull Road, Taunton, near the junction with Manor Drive.

A police spokesman said officers are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with any information.

He added: “We believe there may have been a confrontation between the two groups in the town earlier that evening or on another day.

“We are not sure whether the two groups knew each other before, but the incident does not appear to be random.

“It appears they met up again on their way home and there was an altercation.

“All the people involved in the incident were in their late teens or early 20s.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Taunton Police Station on 0845-4567000 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
