THERE will be knickers galore at Minehead’s Regal Theatre next Friday as The Knicker Lady takes to the stage.
Rosemary Hawthorne will be performing her hilarious one-woman show from 8pm on April 24.
Between changing nappies, cooking and generally being a mother, Rosemary cultivated her passion for old clothes of the past centuries and their sociological link with women’s lives.
She became a respected and well-known fashion historian, with her own Private Collection.
With little being documented about the history of underwear, Rosemary emerged as a leading authority.
Her first book, Knickers: An Intimate Appraisal, was a huge success and became the gospel on everything from pantaloons and pantalettes to divided drawers, bloomers and beyond.
Tickets up to £10 are on sale at the box office on 01643-706430.
