TAUNTON Scouts and Guides were back on stage at Taunton Brewhouse Theatre for their 20th annual Gang Show last week.

The show included a host of singing, dancing and comedy helped along by an array of colourful costumes and imaginative set.

The 76-strong cast performed something for all the family with belly dancers, rebellious teens and a tour of America including New York, Memphis and Baltimore.

Musical director Jo Buck, who was a Brownie in the 1989 show, said: “The music and singing has come a long way since those early years.

“Teaching around 40 different songs to a cast of nearly 80 is challenging but very rewarding when it all comes together!”

The seven major production scenes and six mini scenes all required costumes from wardrobe mistress Jackie Millen with choreography from Maureen Leach and Jenny Davey.

Comedy was also top of the agenda with mime routine, The Recording Studio, as well as sketches A Cup Of Rose Lea, Seaside Landladies and The Hen Night.

Supporting the show was stage manager Simon Wilmott, lighting design Pete Wilmott and technical director Derek Tilley.
