A SOMERSET business is defying the credit crunch and opening a new branch near Taunton.

Keith and Cathy Taylor, who own UK Storage, say they are pushing ahead with the new outlet, located off the A358 at Norton Fitzwarren, despite the present economic climate.

The couple, former winners of the ‘Somerset Entrepreneur of the Year‘ accolade, said: “We firmly believe businesses can do well despite the recession. “We’ve had some weird and wonderful items stored with us over the years including Percy the Pike, a stuffed fish, and also a replica of Knight Rider’s car K.I.T.T.

“It’s the variety of customers we have had that helped us expand.

“The new site would not have been possible without the help of the staff at the Bridgwater site – we’d like to say a special thank you to them for putting in the extra effort and hours to get the Taunton site ready.”

UK Storage launched in 2005 in Bridgwater and received two awards in the first two years of trading, including ‘Best New Business of the Year’.

The new site offers drive-up storage units and has a 24-hour access option. To celebrate the opening UK Storage is offering a discount voucher of £100 to anyone using the new storage facilities for four weeks or more.
