A PUPIL from Kingston St Mary Primary School has bagged himself a prize by winning a competition.

He won Somerset Waste Action Programme’s ‘Bags of Choice’ competition for his slogan “Change is in the bag”.

SWAP challenged Somerset school pupils to either make a bag from reused materials or to design a logo for a cotton reusable bag.

Ben won the logo category with his slogan “Change is in the bag” and scooped 400 reusable cotton bags for his school, which have been printed up bearing his slogan, and a bag of recycled goodies for himself.

Fellow pupils have all been given a bag and the school hopes to raise funds by selling the rest.

Programme manager Rupert Farthing said: “Ben’s slogan really stood out. We had some excellent entries but this one really grabbed the attention of the judges – we foresee a career in marketing for Ben.”
