STUDENTS and staff at Bishop Fox’s Community School, Taunton, maintained the high standards they set themselves last year.

Head teacher Paul Scutt said: “We are delighted once again with our examination results with the school posting a 5 A*-C pass rate of 68%. This follows in the footsteps of a figure of 69% last year.

“I am delighted that we have matched last year’s outstanding performance. Results for the school are impressive with some subjects delivering at 100% on the A*-C benchmark this year.

“My thanks go to all the staff of the school and my best wishes to all our students who I hope secure the college and work places to which they aspired.

“While I am delighted for all our students it would be remiss of me not to give special mention to some for their individual performances including Sam Hill who achieved at A* in every one of the GCSE subjects he studied while George Stunt and Catherine Cook also registered A* and A grades in all 11 of their subject entries.

“The school community has worked tirelessly in recent years to consistently perform in keeping with the top 25% of schools nationally. Last year our contextual value added figure placed us third in the county in terms of value added performance and we are hoping for something similar this year.”
