AN album by Joss Stone which was written and recorded in Wellington is being released on November 2.

Colour Me Free is the fourth studio album by the Uffculme-based soul singer.

It was recorded at Mama Stones, the former live venue and recording studio run by her mother in North Street before its relocation to Exeter earlier this year.

Joss Stone said: "I kind of woke up one morning and wanted to make an album.

“It's very, very raw. It's a bunch of musicians, writers and myself, and we're just jamming, basically.

“This time, the album was not dictated or forced, it was an organic process where each musician was given the freedom to create their sound.

“I co-produced this record; it's an honest and accurate representation of where I am as an artist and person right now.

“I am really proud of the music and excited to have people finally hear the songs.”

The 22-year-old has already won two Brit awards, been nominated for four Grammys, and has sold more than eight million albums worldwide.
