JAMIE Rendall, the terminally ill boy from Taunton, who is dying of cancer, was baptised on Sunday.
Jamie, five, was diagnosed with Neuro-blastoma, cancer of the nervous system, in July last year.
Last week the Somerset County Gazette reported how Jamie had made the decision to fight the cancer and continue chemotherapy.
After a routine check-up yesterday (Wednesday), Jamie returned home and developed a temperature in the afternoon.
He is now back in hospital because doctors found an infection around the medication tube implanted in his chest.
Pat Mayhew, his grandmother, said: "The doctors have put him on a course of antibiotics, but the worry is that Jamie is in such a weak condition.
"Now it's a question of holding our breath and waiting for the next 24 hours to see what happens."
