SPORTS lovers in Taunton Deane were celebrating yesterday (Wednesday) after it was revealed that London will host the Olympics in 2012.
Fencers Dominic Kerr, 15, and his sister, Felicity, 13, are two of Taunton's best prospects of competing in the Games.
Dominic and Felicity, who live in Kingston Road, Taunton, have been fencing with Taunton Blades at Ladymead Community School for four years and have already captained England at U16 level.
Prof Neil Brown, national coach at U17 level, said: "Their chances of going are good as long as their commitment remains high between now and then.
"Fencers need to be in the top 20 in the world to qualify for the Olympics and both Felicity and Dominic are top of the national U17 rankings at this time.
"Felicity is also ranked number one in the world at senior level for fencers born in 1991."
