THE Quantock Hills could be alive with the sound of jet engines if an application lodged this week for changes to commercial flight paths across West Somerset is approved.
Expansion at Bristol and Cardiff international airports could see commercial jets and propeller aircraft flying at low level over the peaceful combes and slopes.
The controversial application, which has been contested by Quantock conservationists and which could come into effect in just eight months, was delivered to the Civil Aviation Authority on Tuesday.
